Application for an Introductory Coaching Session

Thank you for your interest in receiving coaching.

If you are ready to connect with yourself, and to create what you really want in your life or business, then the on-going support of your own coach is invaluable and one of the best investments you can make.

We know, however, that it is difficult to realize the value of coaching without experiencing it and hence offer an initial free 30 minute counsultation and coaching session where you can receive coaching on an area of your choice without any further obligation.

In the introductory session you will experience the coaching approach, be supported in clarifying both your current situation and what you want, and be encouraged to take some specific actions to move you forward. You will also get the opportunity to ask any questions you have about the coaching process should you wish to do more.

If you would prefer a longer first session (at a charge) to discuss a particular sitation in more depth then we can do this -- and then you can make a choice about whether or not to continue with coaching.

To help us make the most of the time in the session, please:

  • Read the frequently asked questions with answers given below
  • Send me an email saying a little about what is happening with you and what you would like from coaching to:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who are your clients and where do they come from?

A. We work with individuals and organizations from the UK, Europe, Australia and the US.

Q. What do they work with you on?

A. We work on both personal and business areas. The pre-requisites for coaching to be effective are a gap between how things are currently and how you want them to be, coupled with a willingness to clarify what you want and to consistently take action.

Q. Where are the sessions held?

A. Sessions are by phone or Skype with email support -- this allows you to phone in from anywhere in the world from the convenience of office, home, or any private location.

Q. How does phone coaching work compared to face-to-face?

A. Most clients find that phone coaching allows them to focus very deeply on the issues without visual distraction and those who have experienced both tend to prefer phone sessions. If you are not sure how it would work for you then arrange a one-off introductory session and find out for yourself.

Q. How long are the sessions and how frequently?

A. Session length and frequency can be agreed to suit you. The most common format, for one-to-one coaching, is 3 sessions per month of 50 minutes. Additional short calls (5-10 minutes) and emails are included in the monthly fee so as to give you on-going focus and support.

Q. What are the fees?

Standard fees, for individuals* arranging coaching for themselves, are currently between £200 - 850 GBP per month depending on your personal situation and the number and length of sessions agreed. Additional short calls and email between sessions are included.

In order to make coaching available to a wider group, with limited resources, reduced fees for 3-6 months are available. Please ask about this.

* Corporate rates are higher to include all the extras involved. Please contact us for more information.

Q. What about the cost of calls?

A. Low cost providers, now available in most countries, mean that clients can call from the USA and Europe, as well as the UK, for very low rates. If preferred, the coach can call you at most land line locations worldwide for no or else nominal additional fee. You can ask about this before or during the introductory session.

Q. Is coaching like consultancy?

A. No. Although there may be some overlap, coaching is about supporting you in generating and acting on your own solutions with the coach acting as a powerful catalyst. If you are looking for an expert to provide and implement a solution then consultancy may be more appropriate.

Q. Is coaching like counseling or therapy?

A. No. Although there may be some overlap, coaching is about focusing on what is presently happening in your life and taking action towards how you want things to be. It assumes that you are able to cope emotionally and take responsibility for your choices and actions. If you need to deal with a lot of past issues and emotions then counseling or therapy would be more appropriate.
